I did not take the traditional path into the mortgage business.
Before becoming a mortgage loan officer, I spent nearly 20 years working in education, much of it outdoors. I trained future outdoor professionals, taught leadership, and helped people develop the judgment needed to guide activities like backpacking, rock climbing, whitewater kayaking, and diving.
Over the years, I spent more than 1,500 days in the field.
That is a lot of nights in a tent, a lot of miles on the trail, and more than a few opportunities to learn that good preparation matters.
Eventually, my work moved into educational technology, where I helped create digital learning experiences for outdoor skills and safety. It may sound like an unusual career path, but there has always been a common thread running through my work: I have a heart for helping people.
Today, I bring that same mindset to mortgages.
I know that buying a home is about much more than interest rates and paperwork. It may mean putting down roots, creating more room for a growing family, moving closer to the people you love, or finally reaching a goal you have worked toward for years.
I also know the process can feel intimidating. Mortgage language has a strange talent for making simple ideas sound much more complicated than they need to be.
That is where I come in.
I enjoy helping people ask better questions, understand their choices, and move forward with confidence. I will never expect you to already know how the mortgage process works. Explaining it is part of my job, and honestly, it is the part I enjoy most.
I was born and raised in Anderson, South Carolina, and I am proud to still call it home. I live here with my wife and daughter, and when I am not working, I am usually spending time with them, getting outside, or attempting to improve my golf game.
I am licensed to help borrowers in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia. Whether you are buying your first home, planning your next move, or exploring a refinance, I would be glad to help you understand what comes next.
